Transition Everyone goes through many transitions throughout their lives, whether it be transitioning from city life to river life or young adult life to the newness of being diagnosed with cancer. It is important to recognize the numerous transitions that a young adult (YA) with cancer goes through when diagnosed. 2. Fear & Uncertainty This is quite possibly one of the most familiar themes for people worldwide regardless of their place in life, especially because we seem to live in a culture of fear today in North America. There is a fear that hits hard for YAs when diagnosed with cancer and the uncertainty of this new life challenge can be overwhelming. 3. Isolation Because of their stage in life, one of the main things that YAs feel when diagnosed is a sharp sense of isolation from their friends (life goes on), family (how do they relate
