Introductory Review of Financial Statements 2 We will present a brief overview of the origin, company brands, and financial statements of both Pepsi Company and Coca Cola Corporation to give you some insight on each company. We hope that by providing a financial comparison, you can contribute positive feedback, to assess whether we should consider a merger. Although both companies have very similar product lines, they do not necessarily follow the same financial path to obtain the bottom line. Each company has launched other beverage products and in some cases a completely different product line outside of the beverage industry. Both are very successful in these new business ventures, but could be conflicting with each other should a merger be considered. Beverage Giants Coca Cola Corporation Dr. John Pemberton invented Coca Cola in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1886. Coca Cola is the world’s leading maker and vendor of non-alcoholic beverage brands. The products marketed by the Coca Cola brand name includes 3,500 beverages, which range from waters, sports and energy drinks, teas and coffees , still beverages and 100% fruit juices and fruit drinks, the Coca Cola variety extends throughout globe. Coca Cola is one of the leading companies in the non- alcoholic beverage industry. Coca Cola upholds a large continued existence in the global market. Coca Cola’s commitment to performance continues to bring innovative products to consumers with more than 100 juice drink brands and maintains a variety of cultures with quality products. The Certified Public Accounting firm that audited Coca Cola’s financial statements is PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. This is an independent registered public accounting firm, which is in charge of performing the self-governing audit of the combined financial statements.
