“Improving Organizational Performance” Simulation Summary 2 Abstract Successful organizations reach and exceed their business goals, maintain harmony among their personnel, and continue to increase their profit margin. Business is great for these organizations and they can sit back and watch their profits rise at the end of the year. Unfortunately, it is not as easy as it sounds. Successful organizations work diligently to continue to find methods to improve on their processes and to maintain that harmony among their personnel. The increase in the profit margin is usually a bi-product of improving the other two. A company that started successfully and slowly began a negative descent is Airdevil. We will look into their early success and the slow change in the opposite direction. We will discuss how occupational stress affected employees motivation resulting in a drop in performance which in turn caused the company’s reversal of fortune. We will look at some motivational theories that can be applied to reverse this negative trend and hopefully regain the early success that Airdevil enjoyed.

“Improving Organizational Performance” Simulation Summary 3 “Improving Organizational Performance” Simulation Summary Airdevil was founded in 1995 and for the next 10 years it grew in popularity as well as in size and revenue. Airdevil was enjoying much of its success due to hard work and determination from its founder as well as all the personnel. The organization’s goals, objectives, and values aligned with management, the stunt’s personnel, and all the support and administrative employees. In 2005, Airdevil’s popularity in the industry was beginning to drop and there were signs of turmoil, but these signs were ignored. In 2007, it was evident that there was a major problem and Airdevil decided to bring in professional assistance to get to the root of the problem and help get back on a positive track. Airdevil realized that there was a major personnel issue so they conducted a couple of job
