Individual Strengths and Problem-Solving Techniques 2 Individual Strengths and the Group Process I am currently the Senior Recruiting Manager at Welker Inc. When we receive a recruiting requisition for a position at our company, I assemble a group that will put the job description together, review resumes as they come in, select a short list of five candidates to interview, conduct the team interview, and finally select the best two candidates. We present the department manager with the two best candidates along with the criteria for selecting. The manager will determine which one will be his primary selection, and extend a job offer. Should the candidate turn down the offer, the manager will go to the second candidate. Our objective is to help position the manager to hire the best possible candidate for the job. As the team leader, I bring strong business acumen to the group. Other strengths that I bring to the group setting based, on a couple of strength analysis, are positivity, arranging, belief, developing, and including. I have very strong sales skills which help me to communicate and listen to members of the group. All these strengths and skills combined help me bring cohesion to our group, so that we can work together to put together an accurate job description and select the best candidates to interview. Rath (2007), states “everyone possesses certain strengths and those strengths are compatible with strengths possessed by others.” When I select the key people
