In the VLR they mentioned a variety of renewable energy sources such as wind power, solar power and ethanol fuel. The scientists say that in the United States fossil fuel is so cheap to make and prices have been low for decades that it is hard to compete with the renewable energy sources. To make a difference we need to make it on a larger scale besides each individual people participating. People are worried that it is not as big of a crisis right now, but we need to get the technology going right now to make the United States more efficient. Another renewable resource that was not mentioned in the video would be geothermal energy which is the use of Earth’s interior for space heating or generating electricity.

Unformatted text preview: The nonrenewable energies of coal, oil and natural gas will be depleted fast then we know, the rate that our population is going and the prices of a barrel of oil is sky rocket, people are not going to be able to afford to fill up there gas tanks. So problems with coal mining are that it can lead to landslides and pollute streams with the sediment that is left behind. With Nuclear power you will have to deal with a meltdown that will release radiation into our atmosphere which can hurt our bodies. With oil it can have a spill like the gulf BP in 2010 that destroyed animals land and homes while also hurting our economy the seafood industry....
