TEXTS Required: P.A. Jensen and J.F. Bard, Operations Research: Models and Methods , John Reference: W.L. Winston, Operations Research: Applications and Algorithms , 4 th Edition, Duxbury, 2004. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this course is to present an overview of quantitative models available for investigating and analyzing a wide range of industrial and socio- economic problems. Examples are drawn from all sectors of the economy including manufacturing, transportation and service, as well as several of the physical sciences. While the emphasis is on model construction, there is also a concern for finding solutions.
