Theme of Grace: The interior experience of God which brings us into a deeper relationship with him. It also empowers them to turn away from sin and live a holy life. Through the church the death of Christ must be realized. A person can either object grace or embrace it. Sin is considered rejection of God. Paul’s Letter to the Collations: Starts with the addressing which includes a standard structure. “Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ” A thanksgiving is follows the greeting usually, however here he goes straight into the problem which means it is something quite serious. There is a group of Jewish Christians who went to Paul’s churches and told people they were not Christian because they were not circumcised. The people are upset and worried so they decided to go through with it to be on the safe side. Paul is furious because this is not what Jesus has said is important. Thus salvation comes through faith in Christ not through the law of the Torah. (MAIN THEME)
