Changing the Part Units c Open the part model first then, c Default template in Pro/E standard installation contain units of inches . c To change the part units to “inch” (from the pull down menu) Edit > Setup > Units c In Unit Manager window, c If the unit is not inches then 4 c select Inch lbm second (Pro/E. . c And then Set. c There will be two options: h Convert dimensions (10 inch converted to 254mm) h Interpret dimensions (10 inch becomes a 10mm)

Creating a New Drawing for the L-bracket Part Model c File > New > then select Drawing option c Enter new name (L_bracket_yourusername) c This will work in case you have already opened the part model and it’s active. 5 IMPORTANT: Deselect the option “Use default template.” Select OK .

Creating the Drawing of the L-Bracket: (1) Create a Drawing Sheet c Make sure Model is correct (in this case it should be L_Bracket) c If it is not, you need to Browse and locate the file. 6 Then use the following; Template : “Empty” Orientation: “Landscape” Standard Size: 8-1/2” by 11” Accept entries with OK

Creating the Drawing of the L-Bracket: (2) Adding Views c In the top pull down menu: Insert > Drawing View> General (or use the top toolbar button Add view) The primary view will be the front view of the part, c So select a center point on the sheet, he rawing View indow also appears 7 The Drawing View window also appears This includes view type and orientation, section views, edge display, scale, and so on.
