1_Base_xxx (2 of 14) Open a new part, 1_Base_xxx and open a new sketch on the RIGHT plane. Now let’s look at the Sketch window. Notice on the left that the TOP plane is running along the vertical axis of our sketch. This means that we are sketching in such a manner so that the drawing’s top view is on the left. In order to correct that, select the Reference window as TOP (in this case it already is) and then select the Orientation as Top, as shown to the left. You will see the sketch window rotate into its proper position. Click Sketch to accept.

1_Base_xxx (3 of 14) In the main menu, go to Sketch>Data from file. .>File system. . . Finally, use the Refit Object to Screen tool to expand the drawing. Hold the right mouse button on the target and drag it to the lower left corner of the sketch, then… Hold the left button to move the target (and the whole sketch with it) to the sketch origin. A browser window will open from which you can open the V_Jaw_Profile sketch previously saved, as shown to the left. Follow the instructions below to snap the corner of the drawing to the sketch origin. Set the scale to 1. 2) 1) 3) 4)

1_Base_xxx (4 of 14) After accepting the sketch, extrude it on both sides of the sketch plane as shown above. Accept the extrusion and rename it to FIXED_JAW. Select the right side of the jaw as shown here. Create a sketch on this plane. After closing the Sketch window, Select Sketch>References.
