After a flush, the water level decreases as water flows into the toilet bowl. The water valve opens to send water into the tank. The float registers the water level and, when it reaches the desired level, shuts off the water valve to stop the flow of water into the tank. A set screw on the water valve linkage permits adjustment of the desired water level. (a) Draw the block diagram for the water level control system in the tank. (b) What is the plant in this system? What’s its plant dynamics? (c) What is the controller in this system? What kind of control action does it employ? PROBLEM 2 (30%) Consider the following feedback system where the controller is given by G c (s) = K (s + 2). Find : (a) T(s) = Y(s)/(R(s). (b) System characteristic equation. (c) Damping ratio ( ζ ) and natural frequency ( ω n ) as a function of the controller gain K.
