Video 3 “Making a Revolution” 1. After the French and Indian war, describe the drastic change for England and the relationship between the colonials and the mother country. After the French and Indian war, France was no longer a threat to the colonies and the colonists no longer needed the help of the British military. However, the British didn’t want to leave. They wanted to start controlling the colonies. The British started making the colonist pay taxes to help pay for the war. When the Stamp Act was implemented, the colonist felt that they were being deprived of liberty. They wanted to fight for taxation without representation. The soldiers were trying to get jobs, the same jobs colonist needed and wanted. The growing hate for troops eventually led to the Boston Massacre. Although newspapers exaggerated the incident, five Americans were killed at the hand of British troops. Another prime example of the anger the colonists felt was the Boston Tea Party. This event infuriated the British and responded by implementing the Intolerable Act. Around this time, people stopped viewing themselves as Virginians and New Englanders, but as Americans....
