1 CEE 5734 – Spring 2011 Homework #7 Solutions The system indicated was programmed into SWMM using the information provided where possible. Default values for SWMM parameters were used wherever they were not otherwise specified. Note that T c was not entered anywhere into SWMM because SWMM does not take T c as an input parameter. 2- and 5-year 24 hour design storms were built by re-scaling the design storm provided in class during the March 2 lecture. These depths are: 2.54 inches and 3.43 inches, respectively. Problem 1 is for the before development version of the watershed. Problem 2 is for the after- development version of the watershed. The difference between the two conditions is a change in Curve number in Sub-Area from 72.6 to 80.0. There is also a change in T c , but this has no immediate way of being entered in SWMM as mentioned earlier. The results are tabulated below to the nearest ft 3 /s. The calculated discharges are shown in the table below:
