MAC 2311
LECTURE OUTLINE and HOMEWORK EXERCISES
Stewart: Calculus, Early Transcendentals,
6
th
edition
You should read the textbook sections covered in each day’s
lecture before class.
After each lecture, review your notes and
the text section to make sure you understand the main ideas
prior to working the exercises.
If you have questions about the reading or homework problems,
you may ask your discussion leader or lecturer in discussion
class and during office hours.
Tutoring is also available in the
Broward Hall Teaching Center.
Some online homework problems are similar to these text
exercises, so you may also find helpful hints by looking at the
help available on corresponding webassign exercises.
You should complete each assignment before your next
lecture class, since the material in each new lecture builds
on previous concepts.
NOTE:
Some of the exercises are best done with a graphing
calculator (indicated in the text with a graph icon).
They are
assigned because they illustrate important concepts.
However,
since you are not required to purchase a graphing calculator,
these problems will not be graded.
The answers to the even exercises, chapters 1
–
5, are
available through a link on the MAC 2311 Elearning page.
