The neighborhoods are like a ghost time because everyone is out and about at restaurants and gardens. He describes it as “byzantine style”. 2. What kind of person is Aschenbach? What is his personal history? Aschenbach is a well-respected writer from Germany.He seems to always stressed out and is dedicated to his work. He was married and has 1 daughter but his wife passed away at a young age. He goes to Venice because he is suffering from writer’s block where he sees a boy and falls in love with him. 3. How is Aschenbach affected by the man in the cemetery? Who is this man? What does he represent? Aschenbach was affected by the man in the cemetery by realizing what he wants, after he sees this man he goes to Venice. The multiple ways the man is described, hints he possibly represents
