9 Assessing Body Composition • Scale does not tell the whole story – Need to look at percentage of fat vs fat free mass • Body Mass Index - BMI – measure is fairly accurate for those who do not have an unusual amount of muscle – weight (Kg) / [ height(m) *height (m)] – Eg 70 kg / [1.8m *1.8m] = ~ 22
