The Multiple Regression Model Interpreting Multiple Regression Women’s Apparel Stores How do the affluence of the local population and the number of competitors influence sales at stores in a chain of women’s apparel stores? A regression that describes these sales would be useful for choosing new locations for stores as well as evaluating current franchises. Each of the 65 stores in our data is located in a shopping mall and occupies 3000 square feet. One explanatory variable is the median household income of the area served by the mall (in thousands of dollars) The other explanatory variable is the number of competing apparel stores in the same mall. The response is the annual sales (measured in dollars per square foot of space) Need to use Multiple Regression. Use Multiple Regression to describe the relationship between several explanatory variables and response 2 / 12 ISOM 2500 Lect 24: Multiple Regression
