TENSION TEST OBJECTIVE: This test is carried out to obtain the stress-strain diagram, to determine the tensile properties and to get valuable information about the mechanical behavior and engineering performance of the material. APPARATUS: 1) ALSA Universal Testing Machine (hydraulic type) 2) Load Cell 3) Power Supply 4) Recorder SAMPLE: Medium Carbon Steel (MCS) Shape = round Initial diameter = 12,25mm Initial Length = 61,20mm TESTING SYSTEM: ALSA Universal Testing Machine Max load = 60tons Hydraulic; means load rate is constant. PROCEDURE: The most common used stress-strain test is tension test, which is used for determining the properties or characteristic of material. Determining the mechanical properties of material is necessary to design. In experiment Firstly, we put two markings on specimen which shows us the gage length for considering elongation after the experiment Secondly; we measured the initial gage length and diameter of the specimen before the experiment. Thirdly, we set up the tensile testing machine to deform and fracture the medium- carbon specimen and placed the
