Joe Littman IDS 159 WB 12/14/2011 Make Up Co-Curricular I was born into an upper-middle class family in Cleveland, Ohio as a white male, I went to public schools, and prior to the lectures in this class I was unaware of any privileges I was benefiting form. I have since realized that by attending Solon High School, ranked the number public school in Ohio the year I graduated, I was reaping the benefit of a first rate education, and while I wasn't attending a private school, the education I received was the best Ohio public schools had to offer. I was offered Advanced Placement classes, which gave me a chance to take college level course, for credit, while I was in school. I had the opportunity to take classes in statistics, economics, biology, government and calculus all at the college level for no extra charge, and had 22 credits before I had even taken a class at Miami. With all my academic privilege most people would assume that I was more then prepared for college, but not everything went as I planned. I was exposed to many new things when I arrived in college, one of those was excessive and frequent binge drinking. This lead to my first incident at Miami, in which I was arrested on the way back from the
