Joe Littman BUS 102 Professor Lynn Date: October 4, 2010 To: Disney Corporation Board From: Joseph Littman Subject: Euro Disney Fallout Disney recently created a theme park in France under the name Euro Disney. That endeavor didn’t initially go as planned and this report addresses what happened. The preliminary problems of Euro Disney Park can be attributed to the assumption that the American Business Model would work in Europe simply because it works in the US. Disney’s refusal to change its policies and practices to go along with the French (and European) cultural norms hurt the parks acceptance. The French felt that the park was an invasion on their culture (which they value above all else) and did not accept initially accept it. Stakeholders This park affected four main stakeholders, the stockholders of Disney, the employees of Euro Disney, the customers going to Euro Disney and the French community.
