Unformatted text preview: Littman 1 Joe Littman Lynne Streeter English Composition 111 29 November 2010 Green Movement Effect on Economy Audience Analysis To reach my prospective audience I needed to find a mode of communication that I could specifically reach the audience I directed my PSA towards. I tried to use a hook at the beginning of each analysis to get the audience interested in my announcement so they would pay attention to it. I wanted to identify with each of my audiences in a specific way, so the language and tone in each PSA is directed towards the specific audience. The final piece of each PSA was to support my argument with a fact or some sort of rhetoric, which makes the PSA credible and gives it more power. Audience Analysis 1 My first PSA will attempt to sway young voters (or future voters) away form supporting Green Policies because of their effect on the economy. This PSA will be broadcasted on a Hip- Hop and R&B station like 96.5 or 107.9 (radio stations in Cleveland, Ohio), which are listened by primarily teenagers to 25 year-olds. This will allow me to specify my rhetorical devices so they can appeal to this age group. The basic assumption I am going to make is that no citizens support the pursuance of policies that damage or prevent economic well- being. This will allow me to briefly present arguments that prove that these policies damage the economy, and then free up the rest of the PSA for a call to action. The background music for my PSA will be a popular and recognizable instrumental to capture my audiences attention. Rhetorically I will establish ethos by briefly stating that I am a college student that has done extensive research on the topic, and then I will also incorporate quotes from dignified sources to further support my credibility. I will expose my audience to specific facts like each green job created resulted in a loss of 2.2 jobs in the private sector. To appeal to my audiences emotions I will tell them that they will pay for these mistakes, if the policies are adopted, in the form of not being able to find a job, and trough increased taxes to support the uncompetitive forms of energy. Hopefully my PSA will be successful in aligning listeners to my frame of thinking. Audience Analysis 2 My second PSA will be directed at parents who have children that have yet to enter the workforce. I will be targeting this audience especially because as a whole they want their children to succeed and have lucrative rewarding careers. This PSA will also attempt to sway Littman 3 them from voting for politicians that support Green Economic Policies that encourage inefficient...
