PAGE 1 of  3 HOW TO USE PHOTOSHOP TO COMPOSE YOUR PICTURE PART 2: MAKE A NEW BLANK PHOTOSHOP DOCUMENT THAT IS THE SAME RES AS YOUR PICTURE IN PART 1. ALSO, MAKE THE NEW BLANK DOCUMENT THE SIZE OF YOUR PHOTO PRINTING PAPER, 8.5” x 11”. 1. Make a new empty picture in PHOTOSHOP by going up under FILE  and scroll down to NEW.  In order to do this correctly, you must be in  the Photoshop program. Here is an example of what the window looks  like of a new file with no information in it. It is a blank document. THIS  IS AN EXAMPLE ONLY. DO NOT JUST FOLLOW THE NUMBERS IN  THE WINDOWS OF THIS  EXAMPLE. 2. The RESOLUTION of the new empty file usually defaults to 300 ppi.  You must now change the resolution  in this new window to correspond   with the resolution of your  original picture. Remember that you  changed the resolution of your original picture to 100 (or another  number at the instruction of the professor).
