Professor Michael Welch Intro to Criminal Justice 5 December 2011 Extra Credit: Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired Was he justified in fleeing the United States? Roman Polanski is a well-known producer, artist, photographer and writer. He produced many famous movies. He was a man who was once frequently spoken about in the media. He also had an interesting background that was continuously talked about. He was born in Poland. His mother died and his father was taken to a concentration camp in the times of the Holocaust. Despite his troublesome past Polanski moved to America and spent many years there. Although Polanski was a renowned man, he had many scandals that were brought into light. One of the most famous was March 11, 1977 when he was arrested in Los Angeles California. Polanski was charged with furnishing a controlled substance to a minor, committing a lewd act on a child, having unlawful sex with a child, rape by the use of drugs, perversion and sodomy. Many of these charges were dropped
