Membrane Structure and Function - 13 Methods of Endocytosis Pinocytosis Membrane invaginates, substances "fall" in cavity, used for moving fluids into or out of a cell. Whatever molecules were in the fluid will be moved into the cell. Receptor-Mediated Endocytosis Receptor molecules in the membrane attract the substance to be moved into the cell, creating a membrane depression in that area (or coated pit).
