Learning activity 2
We learned this week in our readings that the Romans are very pragmatic, and they show this
through their discoveries and more their inventions. Pragmatism is the use of thought as a tool to
solve problems.
In my opinion, one of their best achievements of the Romans were the skills they had when it
came to engineering. They created roads, and bridges to navigate on through the world. They
used this wonderful skill and knowledge to create some of greatest architecture that has been
created which was not only strong, but beautiful. They focused on the interior of the building as
well as the exterior which was different from what the Greeks did in their architecture.
The Romans practiced Latin which expeditiously grew to become the dominant language of the
Roman Empire.
