Only the high priest could enter the Holy of Holies once a year on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). Heb 9:7. High priest had to perform this sacrifice once a year. Christ only had to perform his sacrifice once. The high priest had to sacrifice for Israel’s sins and his own sins as well; Christ was sinless and sacrificed for the sins of mankind. Temple Where sacrifices were performed Holy of Holies a room where only the high priest could enter to make offerings. The ark of the covenant was kept in this room, and the mercy-seat was in here as well. (Heb 9:3-5) Holy Place A sacred room in the tabernacle and temple before the Holy of Holies. Contained the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread. Also called the sanctuary. Heb 9:2 Ark of the Covenant A chest in the Holy of Holies containing the golden pot that had manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant. Over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat. Heb 9:4-5 Day of Atonement/Yom Kippur The day on which the high priest entered into the Holy of Holies to perform sacrifices for his own sins and those of the people. Catholic Epistles General epistles. Intended for a broader audience, not just a specific congregation. (Peter, james, the Epistles of John, and Jude) Faith/Works both needed to enter into heaven. one is useless without the other. Armageddon Greek transliteration from Hebrew Har Megiddon, or Mountain of Megiddo.
