Unformatted text preview: Project Grading Rubric Project Instructions: Imagine that you are a consultant for a Mergers & Acquisitions project in which a regional chain of supermarkets is being acquired by a national chain of supermarkets. The national chain has a home-grown suite of applications which it would like the regional chain to use, however your analysis has uncovered some operating differences which suggest there may be valid reasons for modifying the home-grown IT applications. Consider the following three differences, and using MS Word, write a 3-to-5 page single spaced paper in which you recommend whether or not changes should be made to the IT application system developed by the national chain and explain why: 1. The IT applications developed by the national chain support one price for each product. However, the regional chain has a frequent-shopper customer loyalty program which supports two prices for each item (a higher price for buyers who are not members of the program and a lower price for members). The national chain recognizes that changing their IT applications to support two prices would be very expensive, so they order the regional chain to abandon its customer loyalty program (which weakens the power of the buyer, according to Porter’s five forces model).
