Unemployment in the USA Jacky Chong According to the USA’s official employment data for July, 71000 jobs are added by the private employers. The unemployment rate is stabilized at 9.5 percent. However, Bob Herbert, the author of this news article, believes that the real situation of unemployment is much worse than it seems to be. Unemployment is the situation that people of working age who are without work, available for work and actively seeking employment. Unemployment rate is the number of people who are unemployed expressed as a percentage of the total labour force.
