Movie Review – Journal #5 This story has an interesting plot. Helen, the main character, is fired from her Public Relations job at the beginning of the movie. Her life is then split into two as she rushes to catch a bus back home. Independent Helen makes the bus and leaves Regular Helen on the outside looking in as she barely missed the closing doors. As the story progresses, both lives of Helen go through different events with her unfaithful boyfriend, Jerry, and different career paths. When comparing the career and love life of Independent and Regular Helen, we can conclude which led a more fulfilling life. The separate lives inevitably lead to different careers. Regular Helen remains with her, unmotivated writer, boyfriend who she must support. This leaves her obligated to accept the first job that comes her way. Her first opportunity was a waitress job at a busy café in town. She worked hours on end, seemingly without a break. She joked with a customer saying that when she goes home, she only has time to please her boyfriend before going to work again. Regular Helen wasn’t getting paid quite enough so she was forced to find another job as a Sandwich Delivery person. Stress seemed very evident when one customer, happening to be her boyfriend’s mistress, chews her up verbally upon delivery for the sickness the sandwiches caused her coworkers.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
