Cold War 2 for decades and many major crises occurred such as the Cuban Missile Crisis, Vietnam, Hungary and the Berlin Wall being just some. For many the growth in weapons of mass destruction was the most worrying issue (History Learning Site, 2011). To be honest, historians really have not come up with or come to an agreement to find the exact time in which the Cold War started. However, the political conditions were not good. Although U.S. access to the Western Hemisphere was not in danger during the early Cold War era, conditions in other areas of the world were nowhere near favorable. After World War II, with the weakening of Europe, political power was largely shared between the Soviet Union and the United States. The political situation weakened as countries tried to dominate the other.
