Classics 10 Discovering the Greeks (WQ 2007) MWF 10.00–10.50 Haines 39 Instructor . Professor Sander M. This course presents aspects of the material and literary culture of ancient Greece from the Bronze Age to the time of Alexander the Great. It carries five units of credit and may be counted toward the GE requirement in either Social Sciences (Historical Analysis) or Humanities (Culture and Civilization). Three lectures and one 75-minute discussion section are scheduled each week. Texts . Books listed below are available through the UCLA Store. Editions have been chosen for their readability. If you prefer to use a different translation, be sure to identify the correct passages on the syllabus. The Course Reader (CR) is available from Course Reader Materials, 1141 Westwood Blvd. Lecture terms and images, links to sites of interest, and study guides will be posted on the class website.
