Certified by: Holm Center/CR (Dr. Charles Nath III) PART IA Cognitive Lesson Objective: Apply the Air Force Core Values in decision-making. Cognitive Sample of Behavior: Administer the Air Force Core Values to case studies. Affective Lesson Objective: Value the Air Force Core Values. Affective Sample of Behavior: While discussing case studies, defend the requirement to place Air Force Core Values above competing personal values. PART IB Strategy: NOTE: TO CONSERVE WHITE SPACE SOME SLIDES IN THE SLIDE PRESENTATION MAY NOT BE IN THE LESSON PLAN. This lesson uses case studies designed to evoke student discussion on Air Force Core Values. The lesson begins by reviewing the Air Force Core Values and their definitions. Then, case studies are used to highlight the types of daily decisions that people may encounter. The content of the case studies allows the student to discuss one or more Core Values in each case. There are eight case studies. You may choose which case studies to discuss during this lesson. You probably will not be able to cover all eight case studies. Cover as many or as few as the discussion lends itself to. You should use every opportunity, planned and/or spontaneous, to reinforce the Air Force Core Values. Lesson Outline: A. Review of the Core Values: 1. Integrity First 2. Service Before Self 3. Excellence in All We Do B. Core Values case studies C. Improving the ethical climate in the Air Force Lesson 35-1 PART II INTRODUCTION ATTENTION (Suggested: Consider the perfect working environment. The type of environment where mutual trust exists, people put personal agendas aside and continually strive to work in unison to do their very best to accomplish the mission. How many of you have that right now? Why not? What are you doing about it? What can you do about it?) MOTIVATION (Suggested: There is a difference between accepting less than ethical behavior and approving of behavior, which incorporates integrity, service, and excellence. The best way to understand this is to evaluate your own behavior using the Air Force Core Values as reference.
