Do the following calculations: a. 6.1 nanometers = 6.1 x 10^-9 meters b. 9.98 microliters = 9.98 x 10^-6 liters c. 2.1 meters = 210 centimeters d. 6.7 millijoules = 6.7 x 10^6 nanojoules e. 3 kilograms = 3 x 10^9 microjoules 3. 1 Liter of a 1M solution would take 74.551g of KCl. 0.1 Liters of a 0.1M solution would take .74551g of KCl. 4. As certain proteins were digested by enzymes without buffers, swings in pH would occur in the stomach making the acid harmful or less effective at digestion. 5. Our bodies have more of an ellipsoidal shape than a cubical shape. This alone yields a 25% to 30% error in total surface area. Much of our heat is also loss to the surrounding air which is generally cooler than our body temperature. 6.
