Drew Rasmussen Rick Coonrod English 102 16 November 2010 Some kind of title “Marijuana kills your brain cells,” “magic mushrooms make your spine bleed,” “Students need to be careful because drug dealers lace tattoos with LSD.” Sound familiar? You were probably told something very similar to this at some point in your life. Most likely you heard these sayings from one of three sources: the government, in school, or from another media source. The above quotes, and 90% of other information told to you by these sources are blatant lies. I can think of numerous assemblies and drug weeks that took place in both middle school and high school, where we were constantly bombarded with false information such as this. You see the truth is, we are not told the truth when it comes to drugs, and many of us don’t care to know more, or know why. The government, schools, and the media misinform the general public about drugs. Now before you go thinking that this is a paper condoning drugs, get that thought out of your head. I am not condoning drugs for recreational use, and that is not what this paper is intended to do. Now before diving into the paper it is relevant for me to define two things.
