Text: Human Physiology: An Integrated Approach, Silverthorn, 5 th Edition. Readings should be completed prior to attending lecture to provide for more fervent discussion. Course Objectives: The primary objective of this course is to impart an understanding of the functional systems of the human body as well as an appreciation for the interactions between them. Comprehension of the actions of these systems individually and collectively will enhance an understanding of human biology. In addition, the material covered in this course will give the background essential for more advanced undergraduate- and graduate-level physiology courses. In conjunction with the required text, laboratory exercises have been integrated into the course to enable accomplishment of these educational objectives.
