October 8, 2009 -Still on the activity of the actors. - Second year. - Emotional preparation. This is for the person not doing the activity. Meditation on a particular idea. Arrives at an emotional point of view. “If I do this, that might happen, and this might happen, etc” Imaginary conversations. -Actors use this as a tool for training. - First two weeks of this is the same stuff. - First emotion that usually comes up is anger. - Second usually sadness, grief. - Happiness is usually last. -Two people work off of each other. - Next exercise = Script work. -These early stage exercises are conversational reality exercises. - Overlay of character. -Actors have to go to an imaginary place where they can procure emotions needed to accomplish their roles. -Script is no longer seen as you and character. -Not every play is written for central jersey in 2009. o Setting. What was going on in the time period you’re acting in? -Actors must add in style. Third year is predominantly about style.
