Nancy Crawley Case 18 McFarlane Toys: The Best of Interactive Marketing The founder of McFarlane Toys is Todd McFarlane. As a younger child he was always very fascinated with all the different sports action figures that are sold in the toy aisles. This amazed him so much that it motivated him as he got older to create his own toy manufacturing company. His company would market a new category of toys for the consumers out there. This new category of toys would be called the “upscale figures.” The marketing strategy was/is based on traditional and interactive approaches. Today, McFarlane Toys is now one of the world’s largest toy companies throughout the world. A few products that McFarlane’s company provides are: action figures of professional athletes, rock stars, NASCAR drivers, and different characters from certain movies.
