Manager- someone who controls resources and expenditures; person responsible for planning and directing the work of a group of individuals, monitoring their work, and taking corrective action when necessary. 3. The term optimization means as part of goal setting, the manager who is responsible for both departments must achieve some sort of balance between conflicting goals. 4. There are three different types of plans. A tactical plan, strategic plan, and an operational plan. They differ in ways, because a strategic plan is its broadest plan, a tactical plan is a smaller-scale plan, and an operational plan is a plan designed to implement tactical plans. They all are plans that are meant to help managers build a better business. That is what they have in common. 5. A manager organizes the resources and activities used to accomplish some end result in an efficient and effective manner. They do that, because by being very organized managers help their businesses grow and be very successful. 7.
