Theology, as understood by Daniel Migliore, is basically a quest to learn the truth of God. “I propose to describe the work of theology as a continuing search for the fullness of the truth of God made known in Jesus Christ.” 1 While some knowledge of God is known through the word, much is still hidden to us. It is a continuous quest that might not ever end, but along the way much is discovered. “Theology is not mere repetition of traditional doctrines but a persistent search for the truth to which they point and which they only partially and brokenly express.” (Migliore, 2) The task of theology is tough because it might be consuming and not completely defined, but “it may bring great joy”. (Migliore, 2) The classical view of theology is “faith seeking understanding”. This means that Christians yearn to learn more about their faith or belief of God; “that Christian faith prompts inquiry, searches for deeper understanding, dares to raise questions.” (Migliore, 2) Classical theology is defined by the constant search for greater understand and
