Shawn Varghese DNY- Dr. Pecorella October 18, 2007 Visit #2: The Museum of the Moving Image Coming to St. John’s University was basically going back home. I was born in Jamaica, Queens, but moved to Long Island at the age of 8. Although I had lived in Queens for a large part of my life and still relatively close, I’ve never explored nor appreciated Queens. In my mind, Queens was just another borough; not too spectacular or special. That’s why I decided to pick a location of interest in an “outer” borough, my hometown of Queens. Specifically, I decided to visit the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, Queens. I wanted to go to a museum that I could relate to; something that I would interesting. The museum didn’t disappoint, and I found myself enjoying it much more than the previous museum trip. Walking into Astoria, Queens, I must say that the surrounding neighborhood was pretty ordinary.
