Age limit Current: Player must be at least 19 to play in the NBA. Player must complete one year in college in order to be eligible to play in the NBA or sit out for two years. Proposed: Player must be 17 in order to play in the NBA Player must complete high school in order to be eligible for the NBA. Andrew Bynum: Youngest player to be drafted at age 17, this happened the year before the new age limit was enacted.

NBA loses players to Europe Brandon Jennings went from high school to overseas instead of going to college. College Vs. Europe College Basketball • Inferior competition • No pay • Risk of injury without insurance European Basketball • Superior competition • Get paid more than the rookies in the NBA. • If player gets injured, they are still guaranteed their contract money.
