Material: In both the works of Art the material used was marble. Style : While in the Head of Herm the style was retrospective in The statue of a woman the style was lively with varied rendering of fabrics on the statue. In the former the retrospective style was used as it needed to remain steadfast inorder to function properly. Symbolism and meaning: Head of Herm.symbolized the messenger God Hermes and it was believed to be modelled after the late fifteenth century BC Hermes Propylaios that was seen by Pausanias on the Athenian Akropolis.
