DISCUSSION BOARD REPLY 3: WILLIAM PEREZ I agree that work teams are established in order to add value to an organization. Teams that have been successful raise their beliefs about future success, which, in turn, motivates them to work harder (Robbins & Judge, 2009, p. 336). Teamwork takes more time and often more resources than individual work. For instance, teams have increased communication demands, conflict to be managed, and meeting to be run (Robbins & Judge, 2009, p. 339). Effective teams have a common characteristics that includes adequate resources, effective leadership, a climate of trust, and a performance evaluation and reward system My supervisor makes effort in building an effective team, by complimenting the team for there hard work. My supervisor conducts monthly meetings for open communication, resolving conflict, workload distribution, and to run the team smoothly. Many people are not inherently team players (Robbins & Judge, 2009, p. 337).
