Spirituality/ Religiousness and Well-Being Many psychologists wonder whether an individual’s happiness and subjective well-being are related to his/her religiosity or spirituality. The number of studies surrounding this issue is quickly rising to discover a relationship between the two. I believe that there is a positive correlation between a person’s happiness and his religiosity or spirituality despite the slight differences between the two. I believe that a person’s religiousness does contribute to their overall happiness and well-being. It can give a person hope and a place to turn to when things go wrong. It can comfort people and help them feel at peace with their decisions or the decisions of others. It can also help some people deal with the death of loved ones because they believe that God has a plan for everyone and even if they don’t know why their loved one was taken from them, they trust that God does.
