Revised S09 CIVL 311 Strength of Materials Review for Midterm Exam 3 General Information : The exam may contain a variety of problem types (true/false, multiple choice, short answer, numerical, etc.) but most of the point credit will derive from numerical problems. Numerical problems will be designed to test understanding of basic concepts and will be similar, but not identical, to homework assignments. Workspace will be provided on the exam and it is imperative that you show all relevant work in this space. The exam will be distributed just prior to the hour and work will begin promptly at the hour. Do not be late or you may miss important announcements. Tests are due when called and points may be deducted for tardy submittals. In general, make-up midterms are not given. This exam will be closed book and closed notes. You may bring a crib sheet – one page, 8 ½ ˝ x11 ˝ , one side only. Note: It is assumed that you can construct appropriate and correct free-body diagrams and corresponding equations of static equilibrium, as needed. Some material from Exams 1 and 2 will also
