Based on what you know about accounting, what role do you see it playing in business operations? The role that accounting plays in the business operation is several important things, like billing is one part that several people are assigned to type out invoices and data entry into the computer of people’s addresses and amounts of what they owe to the company so there is a log in the company’s computer system. Printing out invoices, put in envelopes and mail. Another part of accounting is the department which receives the money that is owed by the customers; again they have to keep a log of the amounts, sending out additional invoices if full amount is not paid. There are many other roles that accounting plays in the business operations like also there is the Auditors, Account Manager, Payroll who makes out checks for employees, and another part is the person who does expenses

How dependent do you think a business is on its accounting department? Why? I think any business whether big or small is dependent on there accounting department 100% because this department is what financially keeps the company operating smoothly and not being short at the end of each quarter. As far as a lot of things in the office like expenses, bills, debts owed, people paying there bills, numbers accurate for auditing and the companys budget. It is a key part of any business because they are basically the department that can tell if the company is in trouble or is doing well with their profits coming in....
