LOCATION AND CLIMATOLOGY First, we should know the geographical location of San Francisco and its climatology. 1. Use google maps to locate San Francisco. Using http://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/sst/oper/namer_sst_oper0.png , what is the approximate temperature (in C and F) of the water just off San Francisco? 2. On the topographic map http://fermi.jhuapl.edu/states/maps1/ca.gif , describe briefly any topography near San Francisco, and the effects that it may have on the weather if a system is moving in from the Pacific Ocean. 3. Now go to http://www.nws.noaa.gov/climate/index.php?wfo=mtr and select “Daily Climate Report” for San Francisco Airport, “Most Recent”.
