LOCATION AND CLIMATOLOGY First, we should know the geographical location of Dayton and its climatology. 1. Use google maps to locate Dayton. On the topographic map http://fermi.jhuapl.edu/states/maps1/oh.gif , describe briefly any topography near Dayton, and any other geographical factors that may potentially affect the local weather. 2. Now go to http://www.erh.noaa.gov/iln/afos/cliday . What are the climate normals for high and low temperatures? Also, note down the high and low temp (in F), precipitation amount and highest wind speed (mph) and associated wind direction for yesterday. B. CURRENT OBSERVATIONS 1. Use the latest surface analysis on our course front page to identify the main weather systems that are approaching Ohio. Using http://weather.rap.ucar.edu/satellite/ , describe briefly the associated types of cloud and weather.
