SCM 300 – IA#1 – SPRING 2011 SCM 300 – Case Analysis (60 Points) – DUE March 8th Papers may be handed in during any SCM 300 lecture on March 7 th or 8 th (or in BA 446 by 4:30pm March 8 th ) Only Hard Copies will be accepted Case: Rapid Fire Fulfillment (Puzzle Book Page 161) Goals of document In a single page professional document, answer the following three questions. 1. What specific accomplishments of Zara would/should Crate and Barrel want to emulate? 2. What has Zara done from a supply chain or operational point of view to achieve their level of success? Specifically, what types of unconventional practices do they employ? 3. Based on what you’ve learned in the Zara case, provide SPECIFIC recommendations to Crate and Barrel executives that are reasonable, realistic, and cost effective. Explain how your specific recommendations will help Crate and Barrel have similar outcomes to Zara. Also, remember to outline some possible difficulties Crate and Barrel may encounter if they take your recommendation. Do not answer them as 3 individually numbered essay questions.
