NORTH CAROLINA SCHOOL OF THE ARTS FACULTY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES December 7, 2005 Present: Trish Casey, Gary Burke, Norman Coates, Wayne Crawford, Renata Jackson, Leslie Kamtman, Steve LaCosse, Geordie MacMinn, Rick Miller, LeRoy Percy, Ellen Rosenberg, John Toia, Lauren Whitaker Provost Lavelli ( ex officio ) Absent: Dale Girard, Jeryl Prescott Sales, Christine Spizzo I. Approval of Minutes The minutes of the November 16, 2005 Faculty Council meeting were approved as written. II. Committee Reports A. Educational Policies – Renata Jackson EPC met with Calendar Committee for discussion regarding trimester/semester calendar issues 2009-10 and 2010-11 calendars not yet endorsed Council discussion followed regarding calendar issues B. Campus Development – John Toia Emphasized importance of having Chris Boyd, Director of Facilities Services on the committee Looking at signage on campus Priority: Renovation and repair Important to establish reporting system for repairs Will address air handling system noise outside Gray Working on finding additional storage Space Committee addressing space needs of campus C. Faculty Welfare and Development
