Emphasis placed on the interrelationships of these systems. Lab required. CREDIT HOURS: 4 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 4 ASSESSMENT: Placement in ENGL 1301; MATH 0310; College-Level Reading PRE-REQUISITE : BIOL 2401 with a C or better within the past 3 years CO-REQUISITE: BIOL 2402 Lecture COLLEGE REPEAT POLICY: A student may repeat this course only once after receiving a grade, including “W”.

2 COURSE DELIVERY METHOD: Laboratory section includes dissection of a mammal and mammalian organs, as well as study of models, slides, and charts correlating with lecture topics. Experiments and dissection will be mainly student participation, with some instructor demonstration. Films and other audio-visual materials may be used. TEXTBOOK: Required: Human Anatomy and Physiology Laboratory Manual , Custom Edition for Collin College, Elaine N. Marieb and Susan J. Mitchell SUPPLIES: Loose-leaf notebook to keep lab reports and handouts; Colored pencils or markers Lab coat or apron; Exam gloves; Surgical or dust mask; Safety goggles; Dissecting kit Goggles are required during lab. These can be purchased from the bookstore. STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES: 1. Identify and describe the major gross and microscopic anatomical components of the endocrine system; be able to explain and analyze the functional roles of their respective hormones in communication, control, and integration. 2. Identify and describe the major gross and microscopic anatomical components of the cardiovascular system; be able to explain and analyze their functional roles in transport, hemodynamics, and EKG components. 3. Identify and describe the major gross and microscopic anatomical components of the lymphatic and immune systems; be able to explain and analyze their functional roles in fluid dynamics and immunity. 4. Identify and describe the major gross and microscopic anatomical components of the respiratory system; be able to explain and analyze their functional roles in breathing, ventilation, and the process of external and internal respiration as it relates to respiratory volumes, capacities, and gas laws. 5.
